Cleaning of outer surfaces of a computer can be done with soap and water as long as the solution does not enter the internal parts of the computer. The solution should be applied with a lint-free cloth. The cleaning should be followed with an anti-static spray that can be made out of water and fabric softener.

Internal dust can be cleaned with canned air, a soft brush or anti-static vacuum. Anti-static vacuums are specially grounded to prevent static discharge like regular vacuums. Dust can contribute to overheating problems. Making sure that all expansion slot covers are in place can reduce dust buildup. Missing covers can also disrupt the airflow design of the case and cause overheating problems. Additional fans can be added to help cut down on internal temperature problems. Computer equipment should not be placed in areas of extreme temperature or humidity.

Oxidation corrosion can slow down or even prevent electricity from flowing through contact points. Oxidation buildup can be removed by rubbing with an emery board or eraser. It can also be cleaned with special cleaning solution.

Other internal components can be cleaned with Isopropyl alcohol and lint-free swabs.

Monitors should be cleaned with a soap and water solution with the power disconnected. Do not use household cleaning solutions as they can damage the screen. Monitors should not be opened unless you are qualified to work on them. Deadly voltage can be stored inside the monitor even a year after it has been turned off.

Computer components should be transported in antistatic foam or an anti-static bag.

Hard drives are vacuum sealed and should never be opened except by professionals in a "clean room".

Important data should be regularly backed up and stored in a fire-proof safe or at a separate location for protection against fire or theft. Windows NT/2000 Emergency Repair Disks should be stored in a secure place where only authorized personnel can access them.

Because floppy disks are magnetic media, they should not be exposed to magnetic fields that can be produced by TVs, monitors, speakers, power supplies and appliances with motors. Floppy drive heads can be cleaned with a wet or dry head cleaning disk. Keyboards can tend to collect dust between the keys. They can be vacuumed with a small vacuum.

Mice need to occasionally have the X and Y rollers cleaned with a lint-free swab.

Electrical spikes(measured in nanoseconds) or surges(measured in milliseconds) can cause damage to system components or even data loss. Surge suppressors can prevent minor variances in power and provide a stable stream of electricity to the unit, however, they may not always work against larger surges.

Uninterruptable Power Supplies(UPS) provide power to the devices connected to it for a period of time in the event of power loss or sag for long enough to gracefully shutdown the computer and avoid data loss. Unnecessary peripherals such as scanners and printers should not be connected to a UPS as they can overload it.

Laser printers have several hazards that should be noted. The laser can cause blindness, the fuser can cause burns and the power supply can cause electrocution.

Toner cartridges, ink jet cartridges and batteries can be recycled.

Hazardous materials come with Material Safety Data Sheets(MSDS) that provide a variety of information as to how the product should be handled and disposed of.

Electrostatic Discharge(ESD) can be harmful to electronic components and cause them to fail. Low humidity, walking across carpet and appliance motors are some of the common generators of ESD. MOS devices are particularly sensitive to ESD and special care should be taken around them. Below are some of the prevention methods employed to prevent damage:

* Grounding straps are connected to a technicians wrist. You can ground the wrist strap to the earth pin on a wall socket.
* Remove all metallic jewelery.
* Antistatic mats.
* Touching the chassis of the computer while plugged into a grounded outlet.
* Anti-static sprays can be applied to floors, computers and work surfaces.
* A humidifier can be used to keep the humidity above 50%.

An ESD wriststrap should never be worn when working with high voltage equipment such as monitors.

Computer equipment should be unplugged from the wall during electrical storms to prevent equipment damage and injury.

I am fun of using lighting effects because as of now it become popular to all photoshop user and an effective way to add bright eye catching details to a photo or illustration. In this tutorial, you will learn a simple technique for creating brilliant light streaks which can be used in different ways to add motion and brightness to your designs.

Step 1

First, lets create a nice background for our effect. Open up a new Photoshop file with 800 x 600px and fill the background with black. Now, create a new layer and fill it with white. We will use the Lighting Effects filter (Filters > Render > Lighting Effects) on this layer to create a nice soft gradient. Next to the Intensity slider, choose any color that you like as long as it is somewhat dark. For this example, I have chosen a green.
Step 2

Now lets create a light from which all of our streaks will be created. Start by creating a new layer and setting it’s blend mode to screen. Then use the Elliptical Marquee Tool to make a circular selection and Feather(Select > Modify > Feather) it with a value of 20 pixels. This will give our light a nice glow around the edges. Using the Radial Gradient Fill tool, we are going to give it some color and intensity. I like to use 3 colors for the gradient. The first and inner most color should be white or something close to it. Make sure to start the fill in the middle of your selection and end it a the edge.

Step 3

Make a copy of the light layer that we just created, and hide the original. You will need it later to make additional streaks. Now, lets scale(Edit > Transform > Scale) the light so that it is much flatter. Doing this allows you to control the thickness of your streak. Make it more compress if you want to have thinner streak.




Step 4

Now we get to start having fun. To give our light that streak look there are two filters we can use: Wave(Filter > Distort > Wave) and Twirl(Filter > Distort > Twirl). By using Wave, you can achieve some very nice looking irregular paths for your light. Like any other filter with sliders, it takes some tweaking to achieve the result you are after, but you will probably need to up the wave length and amplitude considerably. Also, try applying the Wave filter multiple times to the same layer.


The Twirl filter will give you a streak that is moving in a more radial type of path.

Also, don’t be afraid to combine the two. By doing so you will be adding more detail to each streak, and making the overall effect more interesting.

You will copy and paste then rotate so can make another twirl.

Step 5

You will make new layer then use soft brush with 600 diameter then choose Dark green. Paint it in the center.


Choose lighter green then adjust your brush to small diameter 150.


Make it smaller then choose white color then paint it to your layer.


Here is the final result. Be creative. You will add your other technique in photoshop.

Last December 2008, One morning I saw an AETA or native people in Davao City coming towards my house then she asked for a Christmas gift. I told her that she waits for a while because I will look for my old clothes or other things that I can give. I found an old red blouse and a pair of black shoes then I gave those things to her, she said that she doesn't know how to wear the high heeled shoes. I am surprised on what she said because this time, I seldom see people doesn't know how to wear a pair of high heeled shoes. I smiled and I told her that she would wear that shoes to protect her feet from pointed object and from dirt also. In exchange to my Christmas gift. She played her musical instrument called "SALUDOY", a guitar string put around on a bamboo.



That was the first time I saw and heard a nice instrument made from bamboo. They were the one invented the instrument. They said that this SALUDOY is very precious to them because they can earn money from it. I was amazed with them because they sang and danced too while playing the instrument.

These people were seen in town during Christmas season only. They will bring the whole family and celebrate Christmas here in the city with plenty of gifts from the people in town. They were supported with our very own City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. They were given a venue where they can stay and rest. The "LUGAW PARA SA MASA (known as congee)" was also served to them. When they have gathered enough with plenty of giveaways, the City Local Government provided them with helicopter or a dump truck to take them back to their residence.

It was a nice feeling to share your blessings especially to these people. They have nothing what we have in the City but I appreciate their camaraderie and the way they value their families.

Another good thing about Christmas in our city is we do not have any firecrackers. Mayor Rodrigo Duterte prohibits the Davaoeños to use any firecrackers to celebrate the Christmas, this is to avoid accidents. Actually, the City Ordinance is very effective since the Mayor imposed this to public. There was a decreased of reported accidents during Christmas. It's great! This idea is not for our Mayor's benefits but this is for the Davaoeños. Thank you, Mayor Duterte.

It's really nice to celebrate Christmas with happiness and peace.

Most residents prefer riding taxis or their own vehicles.

The city is blessed to have the most courteous and honest taxi drivers in the country. There are many beautiful places to visit. Once you are in Davao City do not hesitate to visit our beautiful tourist spot like Eden Garden, Pearl Farm, Philipine Eagle in Malagos and etc. As a guest do not forget to buy a pearl because this is a symbol that you visit the beautiful place city of DAVAO.
